As far as interior décor is concerned, no style of decor can even come close to the immense popularity enjoyed by French provincial design. French provincial bedroom furniture has various qualitiesthatcan help you give your home a look that is:

Antique
Quaint
Beautiful
Rustic

You can make it look more upscale or keep it looking modest by making a right use of wood and ornamentation.

There are millions of people who love this decor and if you too love the look, you must try using it in your bedroom. You can easily create this look by using beds with turned legs, white dressers, all white walls and colored flowers and a lot more. Here are a few tips on how to get this look

1. The Bed

You must always start with your bed. You can choose either the distressed paint finish or a simple one. The bed that has high headboards as well as footboards, it is better to paint it white. White color gives that fresh look to your room and it looks even more vibrant. The carved bed skirts are a great idea, but avoid overdoing it so that it does not become the reminiscent of art décor of medieval times.

To create the French mysticism, have a fluffy duvet, a few soft pillows and a richly patterned bedcover in royal colors of wine red in contrast with the bright or lighter shades. If your bed has wooden finish, using good white bedding will add to the character of the bed.

2. Chairs

It is better to choose wrought iron over shiny metal. The shine of the metal breaks the French provincial bedroom furniture look as it is too modern looking. It is better to have a distressed look but that does not mean rusted furniture is allowed. If the furniture shows signs of corrosion, you must remove the rust and repaint it with 'old-looking' paint to create a look of used furniture.

3. Dressers

Distressed white paint is what you will want for your dressers. You can choose to paint it all-white because it is the safest solution for a French provincial bedroom furniture look. But, if you really want to break up the monotonous white color you can do that with silver or black handles of the drawers. With all this, you can make use of glass in the form of mirror or vase to give that personal effect.

4. Carpets

If carpets are needed, go for sober tones like cream, white, beige or a warm brown. If the floor is left bare, opting for wooden flooring is preferred as concrete doesn't live up to aesthetics. Make sure it's polished/waxed or treated to a high sheen to balance the overall distressed look.

5. Wardrobes

Wardrobes are subtler in design so skip ornately carved ones in favor of those whose only decorative element is a carved top. Don't substitute functionality for looks as you'll find yourself out of storage space. You can add another mirror to the room by having one installed on the wardrobe.

6. Window Treatments

For completing the look, you can use curtains that are either sober or rich in color and patterns along with French provincial bedroom furniture. . Mostly simple lace is the best for sheers. If not necessary, you should give a skip to shutters and prefer installing window panes with big glasses. You can further beautify the room by using valences and swags.

Remember, French provincial bedroom furniture should be elegant, simple and rustic. Use of slim and carved furniture in sober colors, with the use of plenty of wood sans leather and metal will give you the desired results.
