I have recently returned from a glorious holiday and I'm trying my absolute hardest to maintain my tan. Thankfully, I'm doing a good job of it, and haven't had to use a sunbed.
Contrary to popular belief, to keep that golden glow you have to exfoliate, twice a week, moisturize and sleep. It sounds simple, but too often do we not get enough shut eye, or have the time to moisturize properly
Materials 100g shea butter
Each time, before you shower, dry-brush your skin with a body brush. Be thorough, think long strokes, then concentrated scrubbing in dry areas like knees, elbows, backs of knees and feet.
When you step out the shower you'll be just as tanned and your moisturizer will sink in all the better, locking in that golden tan.
Shea butter is the answer for hydrated, tan-keeping skin. Slap on a generous amount, and whilst you might be quite shiny for at least half an hour, it keeps your skin deeply moisturized, nourished and healthy. Not to mention soft, supple and deeply golden.
Sleep is essential for maintaining your tan. Moisturize before bed and get eight hours. During sleep your skin locks in moisture twice as much as during the day, so it really is essential to moisturize before you get shut-eye.
