If you're after a fancier to-do list, then why not make your own mini chalkboard out of a photo frame. There are lots of great ornate photo frames around at the moment, and they come in a huge range of colours. Turning one into a blackboard is so simple, all you need is a bit of patience while it dries.
You can find chalkboard paint at most hardware stores, and you can find a range of pretty but cheap photo frames by heading to your local discount store.
First take apart your photo frame. You can paint straight onto the glass. If you're like me and manage to beak your glass before getting started, then just get a piece of card and cut it to the same size as the display picture that comes with the frame.
Start painting the glass or card. Try and paint all in one direction. Leave it to dry.
Once your first coat of paint has dried, paint a second coat. Leave it to dry.
Once the paint has dried completely you can reassemble the frame.
Your new blackboard can be used for anything, keep it on your desk or hang it on a wall. You can write on it with regular chalk, but for a cleaner look check out Chalk Ink. It writes like a marker, but wipes off with water.
