Our skin is our largest organ and itís important that we look after it. Just like other organs in our body, the skin is a filter for toxins, and needs to be kept healthy so it can do its job properly.
Dry body-brushing is quick and easy and can fit into our morning routine without any inconvenience. It takes just a few minutes before your morning shower and leaves you feeling fresh and rejuvenated.
Here are a few great benefits of dry body-brushing:

Just as important as the act of body-brushing is the type of brush we use. Plastic or nylon brushes are too harsh on the skin. A natural bristle brush or loofah is recommended, and preferably one with a long handle to reach the back and legs.
Start gently until you get used to the brushing. Your skin will redden a little but thatís because the blood circulation is being stimulated. Dry body-brushing is not recommended for those with skin allergies or inflammation, varicose veins or pregnant women unless after prior consultation with a health professional.

Begin by brushing with gentle strokes from your feet and ankles upward, up both legs, front and back, then your stomach and back Ė always brushing toward the heart.
Hop into the shower, and Ė if youíre brave enough Ė finish with a cold rinse.

Towel dry and apply moisturiser or body lotion. Your skin will feel healthy and revitalised. Make dry body-brushing a daily habit and you will soon begin to feel the long-term benefits.
