Mung beans are a rich source of protein. By sprouting them the quantity of their protein increases. It is a very simple procedure and you do not require any fancy appliances for this.
Time: 2 days (On a hotter day, it goes faster)
Materials
1 bowl whole mung beans
Water
Method
Add them to a bowl such that they do not completely fill. Remember, the volume of the beans will increase as they swell by absorbing water. So choose the container accordingly.

Immerse in water
Fill water in the bowl so that the beans are fully submerged.
Leave for about 7 to 8 hours, then drain off the water.
Tie it up the beans in a muslin cloth and keep in a colander.

Tying up creates warm atmosphere
Sprouting needs a warm and dark place. So leave the beans in a kitchen cabinet.
By the next morning, you will get beautiful bean sprouts. If not, keep for longer. On a hotter day, sprouting occurs faster, it is the reverse on a colder day.

Storehouse of protein
Use them in salads, stir fry or curries for an extra boost of protein.
