Taking a screen shot with your iDevice is as easy as one-two-three but unfortunately this trick is not always common knowledge to Apple device owners.

Time: 1 second and some good timing

An iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

To take a screen shot the Home button and Sleep button must be pressed simultaneously. Both buttons are illustrated below. This takes a little bit of precision timing, but when done correctly, you will hear the camera exposure noise and the screen of your device will flash white.

The screen shot will be located in your device’s camera role. This can be found by going into “Photos” and then “Camera Roll”.

Photos app

Photos can then be sent to an email address, as a text message, or to Facebook among other options by taping on the box with the arrow coming out of it shown in the bottom left of the screen.

Here is an image from my camera roll. You can see the box in the bottom left hand corner. When tapped, you will see the option shown below.

Grabbing screen shots are a great way to capture a funny text message or the high score in a video game to share with your friends.
