Make a Photo Board
These days we keep most of our photos stored on a harddrive, but it's always nice to have a few photos displayed around our home where we can look at them on a regular basis.
This photo board is a great way to display your favourite photos. It doubles as a chalkboard, and you can easily swap around photos so that it always brings a fresh smile to your face.
Time: 20 minutes (Plus a few hours to dry)
Materials:
Canvas
Blackboard Paint
String
Mini Pegs
Scissors
Photos
Method:
Start by painting the entire canvas with blackboard paint. You can start with a primer first, but it's not essential. Make sure you cover the sides too, these can look a little messy if they're left white. Leave to dry.
Once paint has dried, repeat with a second coat. Leave to dry.
Measure out how much string you'll need to go across the canvas in a zigzag pattern. Leave enough spacing between lines of string so that the photos don't completely overlap each other. Cut string a little bit longer than you need so that you can tie it.
Using scissors pierce a small hole in the canvas at the points of the string. Carefully weave string through hole, and tie a knot so it is fixed in place.
When you get to the second hole, double the string over, so you can tie a know while still continuing with your 'photo-line'.
Once you've completed the lines, choose your photos, and place them where you want them on the board to make sure they fit properly. Pin them on using the miniature pegs.
You can now hang your photo board anywhere. You can write on it with chalk or chalk ink, and you can update the photos whenever you like. Photo boards can also make a great present or display for special birthdays like 18th or 21st birthdays.
