Reinvent an old book


Why have books sitting on the shelf gathering dust when you could turn them into this lovely display? Now that paper books are a bit of a novelty, this technique will turn your book shelf into a work of art. It's fun and easy and everyone will be impressed by your creative flair. I'm surprised by how many visitors comment on mine and they've inspired me to share this simple decorating idea with you.

Time: 10 minutes, depending on how many pages you wish to fold

Materials
1 Old hard cover book

Find and old hard cover book


Method
  • Take an old, old hard cover book you'll probably never read again.

    • Find the center of the book


  • Find the center of the book and begin folding the top half of the pages into triangles.

    • Fold the corner over


  • Continue until most of the book has been folded.

    • Continue folding


  • Stand your latest creation on a shelf, to bring new life and love to an old forgotten tome, and a bit of decorative fun for your bookshelf.
